World Day of Prayer 2026

The annual celebration of the World Day of Prayer will be observed during the month of March in the various religious denominations. The opening of this event will take place at the Presbyterian Church of Mauritius in the St André parish on Friday 6 March 2026 at 10 a.m. This year’s theme: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” - Matthew 11:28-30. The liturgy is prepared by WDP women from Nigeria.

Other celebrations will be held as follows:

  • Friday 6 March from 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm - Chapel of Montmartre (Catholic), Rose Hill
  • Sunday 8 March at 9.30 am - Presbyterian Church, St Columba, Phoenix (English-speaking)
  • Wednesday 11 March at 9.30 am - Anglican Church, St Thomas, Beau-Bassin
  • Wednesday 11 March at 9.30 am - Anglican Church, St Paul, Vacoas
  • Wednesday 11 March at 6.30 pm - Presbyterian Church, St Jean, Port Louis
