This Sunday, a special collection will be taken in all parishes to support the work of the Council for World Mission (CWM). CWM is a global community of 36 churches that share their resources, expertise and people to fulfil God’s mission in the world. Founded in 1977, it was formed through the merger of several historic missionary societies and today works for justice, peace, human dignity and the creation of thriving communities.

Thanks to our membership of the CWM, our Church receives direct support for a number of key programmes:

  • Children’s Department: developing and revising syllabuses to better support our children in their spiritual growth.
  • Family Department: training sessions for parents and support for families on their journey of faith.
  • In-house PCM training: supporting initiatives such as the ETL and other training programmes to strengthen our leaders and facilitators.
  • Fellowship of Vocation: encouraging and supporting future vocations within our Church.

This Sunday’s collection will help support the CWM’s mission projects, particularly in the areas of evangelism, theological training, solidarity between churches in the North and South, and the fight against injustice.

We encourage you to give generously so that our Church can play an active part in this global mission.
