On the road to Pentecost

The Work of the Holy Spirit
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. (Genesis 1:1-2)

The Holy Spirit is God’s creative spirit. The Holy Spirit of God took care of a newly born creation. The creative spirit not only watches over life, it is a life-giving spirit. We see in the following verse that man became a living being by the breath, God’s Spirit :

…the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being. (Genesis 2:7)

Today, as it was in the beginning, the Spirit of God takes care of us, watches over us, and gives us life that comes from the Eternal God :
